What: Africa Investment Summit on Health

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Business Coalition for Health (ABCHealth) and National Institutes of Health (NIH), will host a virtual Africa Investment Summit on Health 2021(AIS) on 20th September 2021 from 10.00 – 12.30hrs Eastern Time Zone, on the margins of the 76th United Nations General Assembly.
The objectives of AIS are to secure the buy-in and political will of governments and private sector partnership in the health sector as well as to catalyze required financial commitments and support from global, regional and local businesses to change and shape the health systems and outcomes on the continent. Furthermore, the Africa Investment Summit on Health aims to secure technical partnerships (including inputs) with development institutions.
United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ECA Vera Songwe will be joined by a panel of African Heads of State and Government, Ministers, continental, regional and global business leaders, and Development Institutions.
